Fashion Quotient with Environmental Quotient

Fashion Quotient (FQ) with Environmental Quotient (EQ) was the theme pavilion set up by AEPC’s Institute of Apparel Management (IAM). The 36 square meter area displayed changes in apparel design in terms of fabrics, textures, silhouettes, design vocabulary and revival of textile art.
Vintage fabrics and design depicted the fashion quotient. Environmental quotient involves the use of eco-friendly fabrics, dyes and recycling aspects that are gaining importance worldwide. Fashion industry has to be related to environmental norms. Many units have started using sustainable eco-friendly fabrics along with the use of eco-friendly processes.
Sustainable fabrics preserve the environment and human health. Lots of development has taken place in respect to dyes, chemicals and auxiliaries in the textile industry.
Many big international brands like C&A, GAP, H&M are procuring safe fabrics out of India which has resulted in good demand for these products overseas, thereby giving boost to Indian country economy.
The pavilion showed how fashion, technology and environment govern the product development in apparel industry. IAM students had developed a collection of 25 to 30 garments on the same theme.
