KRITIKA – The Display of outfits by its future FASHIONISTAS!

The students of Fashion & Lifestyle Design Department at IAM, Gurgaon organized a display of outfits on 21st & 22nd December 2010 at Lynx 1, Apparel House, Gurgaon. The hard work of these future designers was culminated as “Kritika”, an exhibition of beautiful silhouette transformed into apparel for the audience to observe and experience. These budding fashionistas’ had envisioned numerous themes, converting their vision of innovative designs into appealing garments. Students showcased their efforts in a well defined personal space to recreate their individual mood boards, color palettes and an ambience befitting the attractive, graceful, zany clothing which were a stamp of these young individuals. Fire, earth, water, air, all the elements of nature formed the part of theme just as experimenting with feelings and emotions, various colors, their shades and hues brought the beauty of the attire meant to appeal to people of all age groups, ethnicities and fashion milieu.

The long-term vision for IAM is to position itself as a Multi-varsity to meet the requirements for trained managers and design professionals, with a broad base of applied management skills, competencies, and knowledge typical of the dynamic Apparel Business in a global context.

IAM offers as an institute a distinct bridge between the export and domestic sectors of the Indian textile and apparel industry.
 
The multi-varsity offers a “bouquet” of programs/ courses under twinning/validation from select premier international/ national institutes apart from offering its own certificate/ diploma programmes. With its strong ties with the core Fashion/Apparel industries and ownership of the industry, the institute is able to continually draw upon the industry for both faculty resources and training inputs, thereby making its teaching programmes unique, vocationally apt, industry focused and covering the entire “fibre-to-fashion”, “concept to consumer” chain.

Envisioned growth of the Indian Apparel industry will need over one million merchandisers, marketing and design professionals, strategic design managers, product development experts, production managers and technologists with more in-depth knowledge & skills in the next 5 years and IAM is poised to fill this gap for competent professionals in the textile, fashion and lifestyle industry while working closely with the training arm of AEPC, the network of ATDC’s across the country for industry-driven solutions.
