What is IAM’s Career or Placement Prospects?

The placement committee at IAM is represented by the faculty and industry professionals.

The Placement office acts as a nodal point for all placements related activities and is a repository of required information and resources.

Objectives of the Placement Committee

Build strong industry interface and to enhance industry interactions- Incorporate the inputs from the export / retail / allied industry members in the design and structure the curriculum and the course content and also in admission and placement process in the Institute. Development of employability skills of the students by imparting the necessary work life skills by inculcating social and work place sensitivity.

Do you offer internships?

Yes, internships and apprenticeships are available with academic credit to students who meet the required criteria as outlined in the course documentation. Industry-related internship programs give students valuable information about careers and help to build up their résumés.

How does IAM’s close relationship with the Industry benefit me?

IAM has strong and regular contacts with the Industry. Because of its long-standing relationships, many firms come here first to recruit IAM Students. The members of the Executive Committee of AEPC and the members of the Board of IAM Management are all leading exporters or domestic retail industry leaders of the industry who add great value to the IAM brand, apart from providing employment opportunities for the students. IAM’s faculty and staff network throughout the Retail, Design, and Fashion communities through varied industry workshop and business platforms to keep their contacts updated and current.

Will IAM help me find a job when I graduate?

That’s why IAM is here! A Career Advisor meets with each student before graduation to discuss career paths and review their résumé and work. IAM gives its students job search tips and help prepare them for interviews, one-on-one and in group seminars. The jobs come here too! Local and national companies visit IAM Campuses to recruit students, year-round and during Career Fairs.
